Scopema is JUNK, with zero support from their Manufacturer!
Not a fault of CAMPERVAN HQ, they were very helpful in facilitating a resolution to my issue with the Manufacturer (Scopema), but unfortunately the Manufacturer is a resemblance of their product - JUNK! Purchased a driver’s side seat swivel for my ‘24 Sprinter Van and within three (3) months I learned that ‘Cheap is never Quality, and Quality is never Cheap’! This swivel will make for a very unstable and unsafe experience while driving. If you’re looking for a swivel seat that works smoothly, while sitting in it, look at the Alpine Mechanism Swivel Seat. If you don’t mind standing up to maneuver the swivel seat, and an obnoxious creaking noise due to a very unstable seat while driving, you’ve found the right product. Fortunately I experienced with only purchasing one seat swivel to try out, but after three months and zero support from the manufacturer, I will write off the $400 cost to my negligence of not doing further research on their products. Do yourself a favor and search the product online. You will find countless demonstrations and videos showing other customers who’ve made the same poor decision with purchasing a Scopema.
Product is JUNK!
I purchased the driver’s side swivel seat for my ‘24 Sprinter Van, due to different reasons than to just have a swivel seat and opening up my van build for more space and comfort. Unfortunately after only a few months of use I’ve found that the many other reviews, on lack of smooth swiveling, rocking/swaying and an obnoxious creaking sound while driving has proven to be correct. I reached out to CAMPERVAN HQ to inquire on the situation and their support team has been phenomenal! They’ve contacted the Manufacturer, on several occasions, in hopes of facilitating a return/refund/or just making the $400 mistake right in some way. After videos and pictures showing the problems mentioned above, the Manufacturer has offered to send out new “support pucks” for me to replace myself. Again, this swivel is a few months old and has maybe 3K miles on it… The pictures showed the support pucks were unmarked and brand new, but to no surprise they chose to provide the path of least resistance. I denied the parts and I’m choosing to replace the swivel with an Alpine Mechanisms model. If interested, please do your research online before choosing to purchase a Scopema. I failed to do so, but you will find many others who have experienced the same issues with their Scopema Seat Swivels, and some have even provided videos showing the issues and differences between other swivel seat manufacturers. Yes, you’ll pay a little more for the quality of Alpine, and others, but in my case saving a few bucks is going to cost me much more money in the end, as well as hassle. I chose to install a swivel seat in an effort to make transitioning from my wheelchair to my driver seat. I can walk short distances, but in the case of this Scopema Swivel Seat, it’s proven to be a costly and ineffective alternative to others - And a Manufacturer that is not willing to deal with their defective product.
