FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ordering

What is the minimum order size?

Each order must total at least $300 before tax and shipping charges. Please let us know if you have questions about other products you might need for your build. We're happy to help!

Why do you have a minimum order size?

We implemented a small minimum order size due to extreme disruption of the supply chain and a stark increase in fraudulent orders. Many businesses have made changes to survive such challenges. Some have made policy changes like us, and many businesses have significantly raised prices, while others have gone under. Our minimum order size allows us to keep prices lower while continuing to provide the best service to our true customers.

We hope you understand, and we're here to help if this is an inconvenience. Perhaps we can help you get everything you need in one order. We're happy to answer questions about products you're considering. Your Campervan HQ team is excited to help you build your dream campervan!

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

Due to the high cost of shipping plus restocking fees from suppliers, we must charge for shipping each way plus a 30% restocking fee.

To be eligible for a return, items must be in sellable condition, specifically: in the same condition as received, unused/uninstalled, and in the original packaging. Special-order items, custom-built items, electrical items, and suspension products are not eligible for return.

Returns must be requested within 30 days of receipt. If more than 30 days have elapsed since the item was delivered, unfortunately we cannot offer a refund or exchange.

If you choose to return an item, you may be charged a restocking fee. This fee may be at the discretion of our supplier for the product being returned.

Please see our complete Return Policy for details.

What if I ordered the wrong item?

We really want to help you avoid returns! Most campervan products are large, heavy, and expensive to ship, which is why we must charge for shipping plus a restocking fee if returned. In addition, some products are custom-built to your specs, thus are not returnable. Please see each product listing for details.

We provide extensive specifications and installation information on each product page, as well as detailed measurement considerations to help you make sure you find the correct product for your installation. We know sometimes it can still be confusing! If you're new to van upfitting, we recommend working with a local professional installer who can help you take accurate measurements, help with your design, and advise you on product choices based on these particulars.

We can answer general questions about fit, but you must be sure to take accurate measurements and consider your whole design when choosing products, especially those which require wall or roof penetration.

What if my order is damaged in shipping?

Although shipments usually arrive perfectly intact, sometimes shippers are not as careful with our product as we would like. When your shipment arrives, please make the driver wait (they are required to) and examine your package carefully for any damage.

If you find that your order is damaged, refuse shipment and have the driver note it on the Bill of Lading (BOL) and give you a signed copy. Without a signed BOL, we cannot make a claim with the shipping company, and thus cannot provide compensation for damage.

Take pictures of the damage, and then email us the pictures, a copy of the signed BOL, and a description of the damage as soon as possible.

Shipping

US-Mainland Shipping

We ship camper van parts & accessories anywhere in the mainland US. If you see a quoted shipping price, you can assume that the shipping costs are for delivery in the lower 48 states.

For shipping to other parts of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, contact us for shipping quotes to those destinations before you order (unfortunately, we do not ship to Puerto Rico).

For shipping to other countries, see our article on International Shipping.

US-Alaska Shipping

We ship camper van parts & accessories anywhere in the mainland US. If you see a quoted shipping price, you can assume that the shipping costs are for delivery in the lower 48 states.

We can also ship to Alaska through our freight forwarder. Items are consolidated in Seattle, then put on a ship for a twice-weekly sailing up to Anchorage. Typically there is a US$220 minimum shipping charge for shipments to Alaska, so it's worthwhile to combine several items to save on shipping. Contact us before you order and we can give you specific Alaska shipping costs for your order.

For shipping to other countries, see our article on International Shipping.

Canadian Shipping

For shipping to Canada, you can sign up with a service like one of the following:

These services will provide you with a US address or drop-off/pick-up point. We can ship almost any item to one of these pickup points. If you require a Canada Customs Invoice (CCI) or commercial invoice with your purchase for customs purposes, we can provide one for an additional US$100 charge.

Please note that import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are not included in the product price or shipping and handling cost and may be collected upon delivery. These charges are the recipient’s responsibility, as we are only charging shipping fees for the packages. Check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be.

International Shipping

We can ship to you internationally as well, if you're using a forwarding service. For shipping to other countries from the US, you can use a package forwarding/freight aggregator service like any of the following:

One of these services can provide shipping globally at much better prices than we can offer. To use their service, you can sign up for an account so that you have a US address, then we can ship to that US address. They then will ship your item to you.If you require a commercial invoice with your purchase for customs purposes, we can provide one for an additional US$100 charge.

Free Shipping

We ship camper van parts & accessories anywhere in the mainland US. Quoted shipping costs are for delivery in the lower 48 US states.

We do not offer free shipping on most products, although shipping is included for some items. Many campervan products must ship via large freight truck, and many items going to residential addresses must be delivered with a lift-gate truck, since they are too heavy for UPS or FedEx.

The good news is, you can save the cost of on some of our products if you are close enough to a warehouse to pick up your order yourself.  See this question for details

Discounts

Can I save the cost of shipping by picking up my order?

Yes! For some products, you can get a full refund for shipping by picking up your order from the warehouse - if you're close enough to a warehouse to make it worth your time.

CR Laurence van windows are available for pickup at 18 different warehouses across the US. Check out our CRL warehouse map to see the closest location to you.

Ordering an Aluminess product? You can pick those up if you'll be in San Diego or Coeur d'Alene.

Or maybe you're in Phoenix needing some Arctic Tern windows? You can arrange to pick those up directly from the warehouse to save the shipping cost.

You can also pick up Flarespace orders near Portland and Tourig products in Golden, CO.

If your entire order is eligible for pickup, just enter PICKUP22 in the Discount Code field to reverse the shipping charge. If your shipping address is not near one of the warehouses listed above, or if you're picking up from a warehouse far from your home city/state, please let us know as soon as you place your order.

Remember, if you use this discount YOU MUST PICK UP your entire order from the warehouse.

Do you offer a discount for military, seniors, or resellers?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer additional discounts in most cases due to our already ridiculously low prices.

However, we very much appreciate those who have served our great nation, and we want to help retired folks make the most of their golden years, and we love building relationships with resellers -- so we can offer you some other ways to save money!

  • We can refund the cost of shipping if you can pick up your order directly from the warehouse. See this question for details.
  • If you have a professional van conversion company, you may be eligible for discounted pricing on several products. See this question for more information.
  • Finally, we keep our margins insanely low to give you the most bang for your campervan buck. We care about the campervan community and want to help however we can! While staying in business, of course. :)

Do you offer free shipping on windows?

We cannot offer free shipping on most items. However, see above for how you might get a refund of your shipping cost by picking up your order from the warehouse when possible.

We also offer large purchase discounts if you buy several thousand dollars worth of items at a time. Contact us for an individual quote for your order.

Do your van windows come with instructions?

Our equipment is for the do-it-yourself (DIY) van builder, and to save you the most, we buy direct from manufacturers and sell to you, the end consumer. Most of the manufacturers we deal with assume their equipment will be installed by someone who is familiar with the type of equipment being used, so they don't typically provide any instructions, though there are exceptions.

For van window installation, check out our Campervan HQ blog post on adding windows. For CR Laurence van windows, you can also search YouTube for "CR Laurence window install" or similar phrases.

Do your van windows require adhesive and primer?

All the van windows we sell are one of two styles (the style should be listed in the specifications table on the product page for each window model):

  • Bonded - Bonded windows require primer and a urethane adhesive for installation. The primer cleans the glass and steel surfaces to be connected together, and a thick bead of adhesive fastens the window to the van and seals out moisture.
  • Clamp-in - Clamp-in windows do not require any primer or adhesive, as most ship with their own weatherstripping or external rubber compression ring that will seal itself against the body of the van when it is tightened in place via the trim ring from the inside (some clamp-in windows require foam gasket seal tape for this purpose).

Both bonded and clamp-in windows require an existing opening, so if you have a van that does not have any windows, you will need to cut the window openings in the van body before you can install any windows.

In some cases, you can retrofit some of the CRL windows we sell to replace factory glass on your van (typically this only applies to medium- or high-roof passenger or cargo vans, on some van models those windows only work with cargo vans).

What is your delivery policy on van windows?

Our delivery policy on van windows is actually the same as for any other items we sell.

Our shipments usually arrive perfectly intact - however, sometimes shippers are not as careful with our products as we would like. When your shipment arrives, please make the driver wait (they are required to) and examine your package carefully for any damage. If there is any, have the driver note it on the Bill of Lading and give you a signed copy.

Without a signed copy of the Bill of Lading noting the damage at time of delivery, we cannot make a claim with the shipping company for damage.

To avoid shipping costs and any possibility of damage, you can pick up CR Laurence van windows at any of the van window warehouse locations.

What is your return policy on van windows?

Delivery Damage - If you have received a van window that was damaged during delivery, we will make every effort to replace it in a timely manner with a new window. We will need a signed copy of the Bill of Lading showing the damage at delivery, and some photographs of the damage.

Defective Item - If you have received a van window that is defective in some way, we will make every effort to replace it in a timely manner with a new window free of any defects. We will need some photographs of the defect, and we will then get a Return Authorization number for you.

In both cases, we will need the window re-packaged in the box in which it arrived, and you will need to tape a printout of the invoice number or return authorization number to the outside of the box.

RV Refrigerators

Do you sell portable RV refrigerators?

Yes, we sell portable refrigerator/freezers from Dometic and Norcold, and we particularly recommend the Dometic CFX chest-style portable refrigerator/freezers.

For portable 12VDC refrigerator/freezers, the quietest and most electrically-efficient are those which use sealed compressors. The two most efficient sealed compressors are the Sawafuji Swing (used by Engel) and the Danfoss/Secop BD-series (used in Dometic CFX-series portable refrigerators).

The Danfoss/Secop BD-series sealed 12VDC compressors are brushless variable-speed sealed compressors. Because the entire compressor is sealed within its own canister, this means that the lubricants and refrigerants are contained within the canister and thus do not leak. It also means that the compressor operates very quietly, since it only operates at the speed needed to maintain the desired internal refrigerator temperature at the current ambient temperature, rather than at a constant speed setting.

Do you sell refrigerators for camper vans?

Yes, we sell Dometic and Norcold 12VDC RV refrigerators, and we're working on adding other brands and models soon.

For front-opening refrigerators, we particularly recommend the Nova Kool AC/DC refrigerators, because they use 15-30% of the electric power of a comparable RV 3-way refrigerator of a similar size.

Nova Kool refrigerators are available in two versions:

  • the standard DC version has a 12/24VDC power module
  • the optional AC/DC version has a power module which can run on 12/24VDC or 100-240VAC

We sell many models of Nova Kool, Dometic and Norcold fridges, so if you are looking for a model you don't see listed, just let us know and we can get you a price and current availability.
