The Nova Kool RFS7501 AC/DC RV Refrigerator is a quiet, highly-efficient AC/DC refrigerator/freezer using the sealed Danfoss compressor. Sealed compressors are ideal for use in refrigerators, since there is no way for lubricant or refrigerant to leak out of the compressor - the motor is designed to run in (and be cooled by) the refrigerant being compressed. Danfoss (Secop) BD-series sealed compressors use a brushless, variable-speed electric motor mounted on springs to prevent any vibrations being transmitted, and with a muffler to minimize suction noise. The compressor pumps the CFC-free R134A refrigerant through the refrigerant circuit at 2000-3500 rpm, depending on cooling load. It’s a compact, rugged and maintenance-free design that uses very little power and is almost silent, which is why 12-volt refrigerators using this compressor are so quiet and efficient.

From the manual:
"Installation into the cabinet: Nova Kool publishes its cut out dimensions so that the unit will slide easily into the hole. The dimensions allow a little extra space so that the unit can be shimmied into place as well as providing extra air space behind where required. On most models, the mounting screws are installed and covered by supplied frame plugs (see bag with owners manual, ice cube tray & frame plugs). Flush mount frames and frame kits do not use screw covers."
Please ensure that you are using the correct cut out dimensions that relate to the type of mounting flange on the fridge(see below). Mounting some models flush require an additional 2.5” for the depth and 1”for both the height and the width than the standard units.
Note from the manufacturer:
The R3800, R4500, RFS7501 ,and R3100 models do not have flush mounts. The frame the door is hinged on is also the mounting flange. Once mounted, the door will stick out proud 2.5 inches.
The R5810 and the R1200 models have semi flush mounts that of the door if you have the depth.

Nova Kool RFS7501
Love the size of this fridge but freezer is a bit small for the price we paid. There is a drop down menu on Campervan-HQ’s website that is not noticeable, so we accidentally ordered the DC only model instead of the AC/DC model that we intended. No problem - contacted Nova Kool who provided us with the correct AC/DC controller which corrected the problem and we received that overnight. Nova Kool walked me through the hook up of the new controller and now the RFS7501 is a fridge and freezer that runs on battery or generator and shore power, which is what we wanted. This order took 7 weeks and we were given incorrect information as to when it would arrive more than once, and we found out that although our order was placed on Campervan-HQ’s website, Campervan-HQ then ordered the RFS7501 DC model through Backwoods Solar out of Idaho, which we learned had happened when we contacted Nova Kool about the model mistake. We were told that Campervan-HQ was not Nova Kool’s customer and that Backwoods Solar was who ordered our fridge. We found this very weird. Anyway, love the fridge but would go through Backwoods Solar directly in the future which might have speeded things up had we done so previously. Great fridge though!
