Through our partnership with EcoFlow we are excited to announce our new 48V Air Conditioner Cable is available now when you buy any EcoFlow Power Kit and 48V AC Cable bundle.

No more complicated wiring diagrams, no need for bus bars - with our new 48V Air Conditioner Cable you can immediately pair your EcoFlow Power Kit with a 48-volt RV air conditioner.

Tested and Approved

When we first learned of EcoFlow's magical Power Hub and how all the typical camper van power electronics -- inverter, charge controllers, DC/DC charger, DC/DC converter, transfer switch -- were combined into one compact package, we also learned the Power Hub could, theoretically, have a 48V RV air conditioner connected directly to a battery port. We couldn't stop until we tested it ourselves.

With the help of our sister company, our president Aria Ziatabari's direction and coordination, and our founder Greg Keith's knowledge and experience, our team successfully created and tested the cable in collaboration with EcoFlow technicians.

How Does it Work With the Power Hub?

Our 48V air conditioner cable is designed to plug directly into the EcoFlow Power Hub. On one end, the cable has an integrated EcoFlow battery port plug, the other end has two bare 4 AWG conductors. To connect to your 48V air conditioner, the cable requires an inline fuse along the positive wire, but the bare ends allow you the flexibility to use butt connectors, Anderson connectors, or whatever connectors you choose. Our 48V cable removes the common learning curves and installation difficulties with building large-gauge DC cables.

Plug the 48V air conditioner cable directly into 1 of the 3 available Power Hub battery ports, leaving the 2 remaining battery ports free on the Power Hub and enabling you to have a 4 kWh system (with 2 x  2 kWh batteries) or a 5 or 10 kWh system (with either 1 or 2x 5 kWh batteries).

NOTE: A new EcoFlow firmware update -- available soon -- incorporates the new 48V cable's power draw.

Does It Affect the Smart AC/DC Distribution Panel?

Since the 20 ft 48V Air Conditioner Cable plugs directly into the EcoFlow Power Hub, receiving 48V power supply directly from a battery port, using this A/C cable enables you to bypass the Smart Distribution Panel. If you are using a 12- or 24-volt DC air conditioner with the Power Kit, you'd need to wire the DC Out cable's wires from the Power Hub to a pair of bus bars, and then th ebus bars would bw wired to the Distribution.

Why 48V Air Conditioner over 24V/12V Air Conditioner?

To keep it simple: power efficiency. A 48-volt DC power system uses less current to supply the same RV appliance than 24VDC and 12VDC systems, meaning thinner wires can be used and less heat generated in the system.

The best part is that many 48V RV air conditioners have much higher BTU ratings than similarly-priced 12/24V RV air conditioners. All A/C units with the same BTU rating will operate with the same cooling efficiency; however, the voltage rating will affect the power consumption.

12V air conditioners and other appliances typically will pull more power vs. 24V appliances and the same is true for 24V over 48V, so adding in a 48V air conditioner directly to your Power Hub lets you have a maximum power rating -- and -- a Smart AC/DC Distribution Panel that offers a built in step-down for either DC 24V or 12V loads.

  • Our 48V Air Conditioner cable is tested and approved by EcoFlow
  • 48V power is more efficient and consumes less energy compared to 24V and 12V power systems.
  • Typically higher BTU output compared to 24V A/C and 12V A/C units
  • 20' long cable
  • Can be connected using preferred connectors
  • Compatible with 48V A/C units (RecPro, Nomadic Cooling, Coleman-Mach, etc.)
  • Plugs directly into 1 of 3 available EcoFlow Power Hub battery ports
  • Compatible with 5kWh and 10kWh EcoFlow Power Kits.

At Campervan HQ, we are constantly looking for the next wave in technology and innovation. We're excited to partner with EcoFlow, sharing the same drive for innovation.
